HISTORIC ROYAL PALACES - Head of Interpretation

I have the responsibility for formulating and implementing the Interpretation Strategy across all five palaces, creating a programme that reaches 3m+ visitors each year. I manage the Interpretation Team, a range of contractors, and a £2-3M+ budget.

ARTS CULTURE HARROW - Chief Executive Officer

Leading a £1m turnover company that manages the Harrow Arts Centre and Harrow Museum through challenging financial times, whilst creating and implementing a strategy for significant cultural change. Managing a senior management team of theatre, education, museum and marketing specialists I oversaw the development of 350+ lifelong learning courses, a local history museum based in a medieval moated site, dynamic theatre programming in 2 performance spaces, and subsidiary trading services.

THINKTANK SCIENCE CENTRE, BIRMINGHAM - Director of Content and Programmes

Managing a department of 45 people, I was responsible for directing and delivering the education and content strategy. I directed both the formal and informal education service, technical maintenance, and collections/content development of the centre’s 10 galleries and temporary space.

FRASER RANDALL PRODUCTIONS, LONDON – Project Manager

As an employee of one of the UK’s leading specialist project management companies, I worked on several new build projects including Ecos Millennium Centre, N. Ireland and the Millennium Seed Bank, Wakehurst Place. Also I was the Content and Curatorial Director, for Thinktank, Birmingham. Here I was responsible for delivering 7,500msq of exhibitions in Thinktank, ready for its launch in September 2001.I managed the Content Development team, and had executive responsibilities for the £19m capital exhibition budget.

Amongst other projects that are not listed here, I have worked on several projects as a volunteer. I am particularly proud of one at the Boston Children’s Museum, Massachusetts, USA. Funded by the MGC I took a three month sabbatical and joined the small exhibitions team. I developed and delivered Arthur’s World in May 1998.

I understand from a friend that recently visited Boston, that it is still a much enjoyed display!
